Dr Siow completed his internal medicine and neurology residency in Boston and Virginia. Subsequently he did a fellowship in headache and pain management at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He then spent 3 years as an attending neurologist at the Jefferson Headache Centre after which he returned to Singapore when he was consultant neurologist in SGH before setting up his own private practice. He specializes in headache and pain management and was instrumental in setting up the Asian Headache Foundation which has subsequently evolved to become the Asian Regional Conference for headache (ARCH). He is a committee member of the organization and has participated in the teaching of headache medicine to budding headache specialist in the Asian region together with other Asian headache specialist. He is also a member of the Pain Association of Singapore. He has published extensively in the field of headache medicine and continues to be involved academically in this field.
